                 "Autumn leaves are upon us!"

There are times in our lives when…
We just watch someone we love go through something, and we just want to make it better for them—but we can’t.
It’s just something that they have to carry alone—no matter how much we want to help—
That sense of helplessness—just cuts you to the core—and all you want to do is take it over from them—even for a little while—just to ease the pain.

Points2Ponder  When’s the last time you felt helpless, watching someone go through something that you could not fix or help with?”

I have two situations in my life right now that I wish I could help and ease the burden.
I am there for them.
I am praying for them.
I am supportive and present for them.
But… I just wish I could take on their heavy load, even for a little while, just to give them some relief.
Haven’t you ever asked the question “Why does it seem like some people get dealt a bad hand in life…and others just go by unscathed?”
I know, I know… no one knows anyone’s life completely, so we don’t know what they went through.
I have someone I work with whose life seems so perfect.
She has a close knit family and a fun-filled life with friends and activities that keep her active and involved, including travel and vacations.
It all seems so charmed.
But… she always carries the fact that her son committed suicide and left two sons missing their father.
So… I get it—we never know completely.
I just wish I could help in these two situations so both parties could just get some relief.
Just wake up one day and… their problem has disappeared! Dissipated! Gone!
But… unfortunately, absent of a miracle from God, both situations are life altering, life changing, and… life threatening.
And all I can do is stand there and watch—helpless to relieve the pain.
Just sometimes—for some people—for these people I love—life is unfair!
Have you ever had that feeling—watching someone you care about go through something you could not take on for them.
Maybe you know that sense of helplessness.
Sometimes, we just can’t fix everything.
Sometimes, we just can’t fix anything.
That’s when… we just have to be there—present—loving them through the changes in their life—loving them regardless of the changes.
Love will conquer all!
I’m counting on it!
