Points2Ponder

Sometimes, you just take for granted that someone
will always be there…
Until they are not.And even though you know…
They will be back in 4 of the longest days of your life…
You have to admit… how much you miss them…
And how invaluable they are to you…to your life… to your world.
And it just makes you appreciate what you have!
Points2Ponder When’s the last time you told that special
someone just how special they are—to you?
I just dropped my Bella off at the airport so
she could go see our grandsons who live in Rhode Island. She doesn’t get to see them very often—not every family is fortunate enough to have all of their grandchildren and children right around the corner.
If you are—you should really feel blessed.
We have to rely on cards and phone calls and a whole lot of “just because I love you” care packages to the boys…
just to remind them that we may be a thousand miles away, but…your Nano and Nana miss you so much and love you to the moon and back.
So Nana gets to spend four well deserved days with Marcus and Malaki….
And Nano gets to stay in Florida… and go to work!
It’s funny—when you really enjoy your spouse’s company—you really miss them when they are gone.
Just the little things you take for granted—asking each other how our day went—and being interested in those events in our daily lives.
Or sitting and watching a TV show together—laughing at the same things—and looking over and smiling at that best friend who knows you best.
I know…sounds a bit corny, but… it’s all true… my Bella is the Best thing that ever happened to me!
I wrote a card and snuck it into her suitcase for her to find when she unpacks her suitcase.
I thought “She will not be expecting this and…it will remind her how much I love and miss her!”
Thought I was a smooth operator.
Til I opened my laptop, and…there was a note from Bella—telling me the same thing!
Great minds think alike, right?
Or maybe, just two fiftysomethings are still so grateful to have found love, the second time around.
Just made me want to say…
If you are taking your better half for granted…maybe just assume they will always be there…
Take some time to realize how your life would be…if they were no longer there!
I know all it takes is dropping my Bella off at the airport to make me know...I count the moments until she is back here with me! 4 LONG days and nights!
And just to know that you are appreciated and valued and treasured and honored and respected…and truly loved!
Isn’t that the best part of living?
So don’t wait until they leave… to tell them that you are so glad…they stayed!
