"Sure looks like SuperBoy to me!"

I love imagination!
It takes us to places we’ve never been.
It makes us believe in the impossible.
See SuperBoy in that picture?
He is only 4 years old but already has a great imagination!
He put on his cape and mask and suddenly VOILA! He was no longer mild manned grandson Jett…
No! He was SuperBoy—here to save the day!
And he believed it!
That was the magic of his imagination!

Points2Ponder  When’s the last time you just had fun with your imagination? When’s the last time you just played “tea party” with your grandchild?
I remember tea parties with my twin daughters!
We would pour imaginary hot tea into our tea cups.
And sometimes—that “imaginary” hot tea—burnt my lips!
The girls would just laugh and instruct me to “blow on your tea—so it will be cool when you drink it!”
And of course—I did!
We had many a tea party with our pot of hot tea—some times, we even had imaginary slices of cake in our plates that were in place.
And we just loved every minute of it!
It’s imagination!
And the kids aren’t the only ones who can have fun with it!
Take a moment to get down on the ground and roll around and play with your child or grandchild!
Even IF he wants to ride a dinosaur (that would be me!) around the park (that would be his house!)
And all he said was “I want to ride!”
So…off we went!
Note to self—that “park” had some real tough spots!
Tile can be killer on the knees—I’m Just Sayin!
But still—in his imagination, I was a dinosaur, and he was the little boy who had a pet dinosaur!
And I was pleased as punch to oblige!
Hey? There’s no fun in sitting on the couch when your grandson wants to play on the floor!
He laughed and laughed and laughed!
I did too—no matter what my knees were feeling!
All that mattered was—I was a part of making his imagination a reality!
Just like the “hot” tea—they believed it—so I believed it!
Jett recently had some minor surgery that left a slight scar.
He did well, and the scar is fading fast…
But, today—his mom said that she took him with her to his sister’s pediatrician appointment.
This is his doctor too!
The doctor checked Jett out also—and asked him where he got his scar?
Jett responded “Gunshot wound!”
And he didn’t even crack a smile!
Fortunately for his mom—the doctor knew about the surgery!
This kid cracks me up!
And I just love the fact that…
In a world of “instant information” and “app for this” and “app for that”…
A four year old little boy can put on a mask…and a cape…
And suddenly…
He can fly!
Sure sounds like SuperBoy to me!
