             "Notice: Jett, Train Table, Wall!"

 Kids say the funniest things!
And they are the most honest people in the world.
They say what they’re thinking… and don’t know enough to stop themselves!

Points2Ponder  When’s the last time you impressed a child?

So the family went Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving—not in the early morning “crazy” but in the later afternoon “calmer!”
If you have shopped on Black Friday—you know the difference—the difference between crazy and calmer!
Nope—those days are over for me—I used to go just to watch the people—they are crazy when they are fighting over merchandise that is now $10 less than usual.
Is that $10 worth getting on the local news as the shopper gone wild?
I have been there when we made the news! Not me personally…okay, maybe one time!
Back to our family day!
My son and his wife and their children, Cali and Jett.
My daughter was visiting from Tennessee.
My sweet Bella and me.
We were going to have the kids’ official pics taken with Santa!
Our 8 month old granddaughter was a happy little girl, all smiles and giggles…UNTIL she saw SANTA!
She let out a blood curdling scream when Santa tried to touch her—made all the parents wonder—
Does she see something in this guy that we should be aware of?
Is he on somebody’s most wanted list?
Yikes—that kind of unexpectedly uncomfortable moment!
We immediately removed her from the line and… she was giggles and smiles all over again!
Hmmm? That was weird!
Jett was scared of him also—so, no Christmas picture with this Santa!
So, all kind of broke up into smaller units for a little while.
Brother and Sister found a spot to catch up on life.
MIL and DIL took Cali shopping—Mother In Law and Daughter In Law—come on people, you have to stay up with the new terms!
And that left…
Jett and Nano—how did that work out so perfectly?
He wanted to go play at the train table in Barnes and Noble—apparently, it’s his favorite place to “hang out!”
So…he directed me the whole time as I walked, and he got carried—Jett still asks me to carry him—I know, he’s four, but…
He says everyone else makes him walk—“You’re the only one who will still carry me, Nano!” his words!
And I did!
My back would pay for that later!
So we get to the train table, and I sit in the kids’ seat—picture me, sitting in a child’s seat, watching my grandson socially adapt to new players at the table.
He shared pretty well—except the time he yanked the train out of the little girl’s hand—and she started crying—and her parents took her away.
I counseled him on that one—not sure if he was listening.
At some point, he sees the wall by the train table—purposely positioned so the kids could see all the Thomas the Train choices they could have in presents.
Hey—it’s a store—they want to see high priced train parts to little kids who have just played on the train table.
Jett looks up and sees “Millie!” – I didn’t know there was a girl train in Thomas’ world—apparently there is.
Jett gets that smile.
I know what’s coming.
Or at least I thought I did.
Jett says “Nano, how much is Millie?”
I look and about drop my jaw.
I took a deep breath and said “She’s thirteen dollars”
And the next thing he said floored me—I truly didn’t expect these words.
Jett said “Do you have thirteen dollars?”
I cracked up laughing.
Apparently, he isn’t used to people having the money to buy the toy!
I told him “yes.”
And he got a big smile on his face.
I had impressed a four year old!
And…I am not going to answer the question you are all wondering.
That’s for just me and Jett to forever know!
