"From our house to yours-- We Give Thanks!"

By Alan P. Scaglone
I know most of us are preparing for our
Thanksgiving with our family and friends.
Just wondered….
Here’s my Most
Thankful list.
I am most thankful for my wife who still sees
the good in me, no matter how obvious the bad is—she loves me in a way I don’t
deserve! She is my safe harbor!
I am most thankful for my children—who still
need me—and allow me to be a part of their lives—and make me feel useful and
relevant and appreciated.
I am most thankful for my grandchildren – who
don’t know that I am too heavy or too loud or too funny or too old—they just
love to play and love that I join in with them.
I am most thankful for my family who are also
friends; my sister-in-law who is more my lifelong friend; my brother who has
always been there for me; my cousin/my sister.
I am most thankful for my friend who didn’t
let traffic lights stop her back on December 12th, 1977- and I am
alive to live this wonderful life because of that!
I am most thankful for my friend who urged me
to write when I least felt like I had anything to say—2 books, 3 novels, 30
author interviews and 3 years of this blog later!
I am most thankful for my friend who met me at
IBM and has loved me just for being me ever since—and has allowed me to be her
brother from another mother!
I am most thankful for my friend who travels
the world as a missionary but still remembers to share his travels with those
of us who cannot go where he goes!
I am most thankful for my friend who never
knew the “old” me—before the heart attack—and just made me feel appreciated and
valued—even if I am 20 years older!
I am most thankful for my memories of places
visited, people met, things done, opportunities taken—that I have always found
a way to make a lifetime memory!
I am most thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—who has made all of this possible—He is
the giver of life and all good gifts come from above- I owe Him my life!
List them- count them one by one—see the many blessings
that the Lord has done!
I have been singing a long all day that has
just put me in such a grateful mood.
The words say…
Thanks,
Thanks I give you Thanks
For All you’ve
done…
I am so
blessed
My soul is
at rest…
Oh Lord, I
give you Thanks!
Never take for granted a soul at rest—Only God
can give you peace of mind!
And with all that I am praying for with family
and friends—
To be able to lay my head on that pillow each
night and sleep restful through the night…
No medicine needed for a good night’s rest…
For all of that…
Just have to pause and say “THANKS!”
Happy
Thanksgiving!
