"JettJett and Miss Cali-- First Easter together!"

Sometimes… you just have to wait a little.
Sometimes… it feels like you are always waiting for someone to remember you.
I actually was reading a writer’s magazine and it spoke about the author needing to know who he was before he could write.
They talked about the casual observer at a party, just watching others live and dance.
They talked about the surprised participant who never expected to be thrown into the middle of the party.
They talked about the wallflower, watching others participate but never, ever having the courage to do it themselves.
And then I saw one…and it stopped me in my tracks…
They talked about the one who is always waiting for someone to invite him to the table so he can eat as an invited quest—but he never gets asked.
I am probably revealing too much of myself here—but wow!
That’s exactly how I have felt most of my life—just waiting—to be invited—to be chosen—to be preferred—to be a high priority.
It just floored me that who I am is… always the boy in the back of the classroom, hand lifted high in the air, screaming “Pick Me, Pick me!”
And no one does!

Points2Ponder  Why is it that sometimes you wonder what are you waiting for and then suddenly, you know—it was worth the wait!

I was waiting for a call.
I was waiting for a call for four days.
I was waiting for a call for four days from my grandson.
We had sent an Easter card, with 2 $1 bills and two pictures and asked that they let Jett call us when he got the card.
We also sent Ca-Ca-Ca-Cali her first Easter card—obviously, she wouldn’t be calling us this year—maybe next.
We thought Jett would get the card on Thursday…
Thursday came and went—no phone call!
Maybe Friday?
Nah—not Friday either.
Saturday, we got a picture on our phones that showed Jett was having fun at an Easter Egg Hunt.
Sunday, Easter Sunday… Bella called and asked to speak to Jett, but he was still sleeping.
They promised to have him call before going to church.
Two kids to get ready for church on Easter Sunday—Bella and I knew that call was not coming before church.
We went to church.
We took our spiritual Mom, Mama Mamie, to lunch after going to church with her.
We drove back home after lunch.
We got dressed and went to a birthday party.
We left the party and came home.
We waited for a call.
At 6:30pm—the phone rings.
It’s JETT!
“Hi Nano!”
“You have fun at church?” I asked him.
“Yes sir!” he replied.
“What was your favorite thing about your Easter Egg Hunt?” I wanted to hear about his day.
“I ate a big chocolate egg—it was gooooood!” he was excited about that that egg!
And then came the funniest part.
“What colors did you wear to church today for Easter?”
He answered without hesitation or delay!
“Yellow and Green!”

Now I want you all to look up at the picture of JettJett and Miss Cali on their first Easter together!

 He’s wearing BLUE!
We got that picture later in the evening, and I just laughed until I cried!
My grandson’s yellow and green looked great!
I waited four days for that call..
And you know what?
That call was worth the wait!
