“I’m
Just Sayin’”
by Alan P. Scaglione
Look at that face….Isn’t she beautiful??
And see those missing teeth?
Is there honestly anything cuter than when they lose their first teeth?
And our Princess Macie Sophia lost two! One day apart!
Aww!!! Where does the time go?
Just five years ago, you are holding your first granddaughter in your arms for the first time….
And you see how much she looks like her mom, and you remember twenty five years before, when you were holding her mom for the first time…
Yeh I know… I just get that way sometimes… it seems like a minute ago, doesn’t it?
Our daughter sent us this picture to show us Macie’s Big Moment! 2 teeth at once!!
Living a hundred miles away— hard to share moments, so… I wanted to send MacieGirl something to commemorate!
I picked out a special Hallmark Princess Card for our Princess—and I put two packs of stickers—she loves them! Nana and Nano signed it…
We put the card in the mail Monday. Just to celebrate the moment!
The phone rings Tuesday—and it’s our Princess!
I thought “Wow! That Mail must get delivered NEXT day!”
“Hi
Nano! I wanted to talk to you!”
“Hi Sweet MacieGirl! Did you get my mail?”“What Mail? Did you send me something?”
It hit me-- She was calling Nano
Just To Talk!
How cool was that??Macie is the sweetest little girl and so full of energy!
Even as a baby, she did NOT like being restrained in the car seat!
Car rides were NOT fun—to say the least!
We prayed she would sleep most of the way—so she wouldn’t cry the whole ride!
She wanted to be up, looking around, moving, taking it all in!
She did NOT want to be confined to a car seat!!
We should have known then—She would be a handful!!
Then she started walking at 9 months—and she has been running us ragged since!
She is full of energy—gregarious, daredevil, not afraid to try anything!
And usually—without warning—she just jumps at life!
And she loves her GlickGlock!
GlickGlock?
Yes – GlickGlock is Macie lingo for…. Lip Gloss!
Our Princess has been addicted to Lip
Gloss for most of her five years of life!
It’s her “Go To” present—you
cannot do wrong IF you give Macie Lip Gloss! One of my favorite pictures of her is…
Macie’s “After look”-- her lip gloss applied on her lips…
Without a mirror! And there is more gloss on her chin and cheeks than on her lips!
And she is smiling, ear to ear, so proud of herself!
Now that’s my MacieGirl!
And it is a far cry from how her mom was raised!
Our girls were not allowed to have make-up until they were 14 years old!
Yes, I know… we waited until then…
But… we did have this really great moment with our twin daughters…
Spending 2 hours at the Clinique Counter in the Mall…
Having them “made up for the first time”!
It was a rite of passage—our girls were entering the next stage of life!
Man… how times have changed!
Macie has a future as a Clinique
Counter Consultant! This 5 year old knows her make-up!So I ask her about school—she is in kindergarten!
She loves school!
I ask her about new friends.
She has a lot of them!
Then I ask her about a boyfriend.
“No
Nano!” She giggles! Her giggle is just so contagious—I start to giggle.
And she says “I don’t have a BOYfriend!!!!”I tell her she better not …at least not for another 15 years!
She giggles again!!
Then her brother walks by and hits her
on the head—and she is off to beat him up!
My Princess!
More like that red head “Tangled” one than the blonde “Glass Slipper” one!
And she doesn’t even know…
I sent her that card with STICKERS!!
The Word says…
“Suffer
the children to come to me and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of Heaven!” Matthew 19:14I can really see why Jesus loved hanging out with the kids!
They giggle, they laugh, they listen; they believe you at your word and follow your lead!
What’s not to love?
They are way more fun than adults!
Especially the ones with GlickGlock!
Until Next Time
