"Another Fun-filled day playing with Jett!"

So… I have learned a few things over the years.
I still can’t tell you the meaning of life, but I can tell you one thing—
Little kids love presents!
It doesn’t matter how much they cost—they just love getting presents!
Okay—so, when they are older, it may matter what they cost, but…
To a 3 year old, he just loves that fact that Nano always brings him presents!
He doesn’t know or care that most of them are bought at the dollar store or…
That his Nana put me on a budget so I can’t spend too much!
Nah, this kid just loves the fact that…no matter when he sees me, he knows..
Nano’s brought me presents!
And he loves every minute of it!
And maybe…I do too!
Just a little!

POINTS2PONDER  Why is it that kids still say the funniest things—when they don’t even mean to?

I try to get him hands on stuff that he can play with and…
If it breaks, it’s okay… it only cost a few dollars.
He loves bubbles…
And they had a Thomas the Train bubble maker on clearance!
Yes—Nano knows how to shop—
Remember… Nana has me on a budget!
That’s okay… he doesn’t care that it only cost $5 on clearance!
All he cared about when he looked in the bag was—THOMAS!!
I had this play date scheduled with my grandson.
Yes—a play date!
I live a hundred miles away from him, so… just can’t drop by like the other grandparents.
No—this takes a little planning, a little arranging, a little organizing!
So I come prepared!
I try to keep it at 5 presents—I said I try!
Sometimes… may get him a few more!
This play date, I had 7!
And he was so excited by the bag of presents!
But all he could see was THOMAS!

I took out the other gifts—
A dinosaur mouth that foamed bubbles!
He liked it!
A miniature slinkee.
He used it to twirl around.
Then there was the EtchaSketch—the mini version.
Got it on clearance also—another $5 find!
He actually loved that!
I showed him how to use it and he told me “draw me a square!”
I haven’t used etchasketch for years, so…
I did my best.
Hey, I said I did my best!
He said(remember Jett is 3), “That’s not a square, that’s a rectangle!
I was so impressed!
He knew two things—my square was NOT a square AND… he could say the word Rectangle!
He then said, “Make a triangle!”
Again…trying my best, I drew a triangle with the 2 points at the top and the 1 point at the bottom.
He said, “that’s not a triangle!”
I am fast on my feet—I immediately turned it upside down!
He giggled “That’s a triangle!”
Then he said “These are circles!”

And he took the right, and I took the left, and… we made our first etchasketch picture together!
How cool! How sentimental!
How gone in 30 seconds!!
Did I mention that I had taught him how to erase the screen to start over!
He’s a fast learner!

We finally got to Thomas and the Bubblemaker!
Took it outside (of course! Didn’t want Mom to put me in TimeOut for playing bubbles in the house!)
I got it started and… he immediately demanded to play with it.
He pulled it out of my hands and it fell.
He looks at me with a sheepish grin and said, ”Woops!”
I cracked up laughing!
Woops? How funny is that?
Then he started playing with Thomas…and all the bubbles!
Must have kept us going for 30 minutes… Until the bubbles ran out!
Once he realized the bubbles were no longer coming out,
Jett looked at the bubble maker and said, “Darn it!”
Again, I couldn’t help but laugh!
Here’s a 3 year old, already learning a euphemism!
I have to admit…

Kids still say the darndest things!
